Shu Pu-erh • 2013
357g
This Shu Pu-erh was produced in 2013 and is dedicated to the Yiwu region — one of Yunnan’s most famous and respected tea-growing areas.
The name ‘Yi Wu Gu Cha’ translates as ‘Old Yiwu Tea’, emphasising its connection to the traditions of the region, which has been regarded as one of the centres of high-quality pu’er production for centuries.
After more than 10 years of ageing, the tea has acquired a mature and refined character.
There is no harsh earthiness or sharpness to the flavour. Instead, there are deep woody notes, dark honey, dried fruit, refined tobacco undertones and a long, sweet aftertaste – lasting more than half an hour after three infusions; just imagine 🤤
The infusion is thick, dense and full-bodied, and the tea’s character develops smoothly and confidently.
Teas like this are prized not for the vibrancy of the first few infusions, but for their depth, complexity and ability to reveal themselves layer by layer!
