The packaging states: ‘2000年陈熟砖’ — aged Shu Pu-erh, pressed into a brick in 2000.
Today, this tea is around 25 years old.
The raw material comes from the Linzang region — one of Yunnan’s most famous tea-growing areas, home to a vast number of old tea trees.
The specific village, mountain or harvesting site is not specified on the packaging. This is typical for many Pu’er teas from that era, when producers did not yet emphasise prominent terroir names.
Over a quarter of a century of ageing, the tea has acquired a mature and deep character.
The aroma is dominated by notes of damp earth, old wood, camphor and an aged tea cellar.
The infusion is thick, full-bodied and rich.
This is neither a dessert shu nor a tea for beginners.
It is an aged pu-erh with an authentic character, a powerful presence and the atmosphere of teas from the early 2000s.
Every cup of this brick offers the chance to experience the old-school style of aged shu pu-erh and savour the taste of time.
